My computer problem has not been fixed yet, so no, there is actually no reason for you to read this post. Although it seems like a new desktop will be installed within the month and I can get back to you then.
But there are some things I would like to say. This year at school, we get to devote 4 months to a project of our own devising, a 'Personal Project'. As I explained to my supervisor, Jacqueline Cussen, my idea for my project, the moment Mary Blair's name came up, she interrupted me and told me something very important that I was somehow daft enough not to be aware of myself. There was an exhibition of Mary Blair Artwork literally within a 10 minute walk from the school. If she hadn't told me about it, I would definitely have missed it, because there was only until October 6 until the exhibition was over and I had already missed more than half of it.
Anyhow, I went to the exhibition with some of my friends on thursday, and it was fantastic. There were over 350 authentic art pieces by her there, all amazingly tasteful eye-candy. To think that a large chunk of animation history was 3 blocks away and I hadn't known it! Sometimes when I see cartoon art that is bursting with talent and awesome sauce, I feel hopeless about my own work, but of course that is a useless thought to think.
Anyways, what this means for you is that I'll be posting up an attempt at Mary Blair-like art around February or January. Paint is mean to me, but I will somehow whip it into following my will.
